An extensive overhaul of Wood Avenue in Easton is officially a go, after the city council on Wednesday approved a $1.8 million contract for the work.

Grace Industries Inc. won the contract among five bids that were opened July 14 and ranged as high as $2.5 million, said city Public Works Director David Hopkins, who is also acting city administrator during the absence of Administrator Luis Campos.
